CIRA Bids Farewell to Gai Doran

Gai Doran, MS, is leaving her position as Assistant Director for Administration at CIRA at the end of January to become the Director of Research at the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Gai is part of the original team that formed CIRA. She has been an exemplar member of the research support staff since joining the team in 2002, consistently sought out by CIRA scientists, trainees, students, community partners, and others, for her capable guidance on HIV grant development and other expertise. A lifelong learner who relishes new experiences and challenges, Gai has made innumerable and lasting contributions to CIRA's growth, viability, and impact in the field of HIV research. Her leadership, professionalism, and dedication to the Center and our mission is remarkable.  While it may be true that everyone can be replaced, Gai's keen intellect, highly focused and efficient work style, consumer oriented ethos, and substantial knowledge of research administration and HIV/AIDS will be sorely missed by all who have had the benefit of working with her over the years.
