CIRA Offers Assistance with Statistical Analysis

To further support its affiliates with the statistical analysis of HIV specific studies, CIRA is offering free open office hours with Eugenia Buta, Ph.D., a biostatistician in the Yale Center for Analytical Sciences at the Yale School of Public Health. Dr. Buta will be available on Mondays from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM for her expertise in Bayesian analysis, especially useful for modeling small data sets, missing data and other common problems found in HIV research. She has already assisted in project design, Bayesian analysis of HIV data from Vietnam and pediatric HIV work in South Africa.

Bio:

Eugenia Buta, Ph.D., is a biostatistician in the Yale Center for Analytical Sciences at the Yale School of Public Health. She obtained her Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Florida and a postdoctoral degree in Biostatistics from the Yale School of Public Health. Her research interests are in developing statistical methodology for conducting Bayesian sensitivity analysis and Bayesian variable selection and in applying statistical methods to biomedical problems. She has experience in a wide range of statistical models that are useful in biostatistics, including generalized linear models, survival models and longitudinal models. Most of her experience is with the R and SAS statistical software, but can also offer assistance with other statistical packages.
