Preventing Liver Cancer In People Living with HIV/AIDS

Former CIRA Pre-Doctoral Fellow, Lesley Park, is using longitudinal studies to refine the risk model for elevated rates of liver cancer incidence found in people living with HIV/AIDS. With that new information, she hopes to provide recommendations to clinicians and patients on how to prevent the disease. Lesley developed this area of work – and a "perfect score" for her NRSA dissertation grant application – as part of CIRA's HIV prevention training program. Her mentors are CIRA scientists Robert Dubrow and Amy Justice.
