REIDS Fellow Accepts Position at Medical University of South Carolina

Research Education Institute for Diverse Scholars (REIDS) Fellow, Tiarney Ritchwood, has accepted a tenure-track, assistant professor position at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Her primary appointment will be in the Department of Public Health Sciences, with dual appointments in Pediatrics and the National Crime Victims Center (of the Psychiatry Department). She has also been awarded an UJMT Fogarty Global Health Fellowship, which will enable her to spend 11 months conducting research in South Africa on HIV prevention with her mentor from UNC Chapel Hill. Dr. Ritchwood is currently working on a pilot project which is funded by NIMH and part of her REIDS training entitled, "Sexual Health Promotion among African American Adolescents in Rural North Carolina."
