Biography:

Alexei Zelenev is a CIRA-affiliated scholar and a research scientist working in Dr. Frederick Altice’s group. His recent research has focused on the interplay of HIV treatment, substance abuse disorders, mental health and heightened vulnerability of HIV positive populations. He obtained his BA from University of Chicago with Honors in Economics, and proceeded to graduate from Yale University, where he completed two masters degrees (in Economics and Sociology) in addition to his doctorate in Sociology. He has advanced knowledge of survey design and implementation, applied statistics and simulation based methods. His research has appeared in such peer-reviewed journals as AIDS and Behavior, Drug and Alcohol Dependence and Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment and is forthcoming in American Journal of Public Health and won a Thornton Award for Excellence in Clinical Research in 2013.
