Biography:

Dr. Elumn Madera's research focuses on the structural determinants of health disparities and their impact on physical and mental health, with a focus on urban minority populations. She seek's to build knowledge about the impact of violence, trauma, and the criminal justice system on the health and mental health of individuals, families and communities in order to develop interventions and policies to prevent and address their negative impact. She has developed expertise in trauma and its impact on health and mental health outcomes.
