CIRA has 2 fellowship programs seeking new applicants. Each program pairs fellows with a mentor from among the top HIV researchers at CIRA for a 2-year period.

Research Education Institute for Diverse Scholars (REIDS)

REIDS logo

  • Research education, training, professional development and mentoring specific to scholars from underrepresented groups in the field of HIV research
  • Funding for 2 consecutive Summer Institutes in New Haven, CT
  • Sustained ongoing mentorship and collaboration throughout the 2-year fellowship period while fellows return to their home institutions between Summer Institutes
  • Eligible to apply for up to $20,000 in pilot project funding
  • Ongoing engagement with active alumni network after the end of the fellowship period.

NIMH Interdisciplinary HIV Prevention Training Program (T32)

T32 Fellows in sessions

  • Focus on professional development, research productivity, create professional identity in preparation for an academic career
  • Support in writing articles for publication and preparing an extramural grant application in an HIV-related area
  • Training in research methods and ethics
  • Funding for a 2-year period to participate in the New Haven, CT based program
  • Participation in HIV related seminars and colloquia at CIRA and across the Yale campus
