Adeya Powell is a former Southern Regional Educational Board (SREB) Scholar and a postdoctoral fellow in CIRA's NIMH Interdisciplinary HIV Prevention Training Program. She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology/Quantitative Psychology at the University of Georgia. Adeya is an Applied Statistician, and Social/Behavioral Research Scientist whose research focuses on social, interpersonal, and intrapersonal factors that contribute to mental health and sexual risk disparities. Specifically, the mental, sexual, and reproductive health implications of gender-based violence and discrimination for vulnerable populations. Has a strong record of applying complex statistical concepts to solve challenging questions as an applied statistical researcher.
