Allyssa L. Harris RN, PhD, WHNP-BC is a member of the health care team at Healthquarters, Inc. in Beverly, MA. Dr. Harris spent 15 years as a member of the Women’s Health department and Director of Operations as well as a member of the Senior Management Team at Roxbury Comprehensive Community Health Center, Roxbury, MA.

Allyssa L. Harris joined the Boston College faculty beginning in the fall of 2007 where she is an Assistant Professor at the Connell School of Nursing.  She teaches advanced practice in women’s health nursing clinical and theory, advanced practice role for nurse practitioners, and advance pharmacology in the master’s program.

Dr. Harris’ current research involves examining adolescent sexual risk behaviors.  Her REIDS research focused on understanding African American father-son sexual communication.   In addition to these projects her research interests include African American women’s health & healthcare policies, and media influences of sexual risk behaviors as well as urban healthcare. Dr. Harris has published a number of articles on Women’s Health issues including contraception, and decision-making.
