NIH Removing AIDS Application Due Dates from NOFOs

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will eliminate non-standard AIDS application due dates, effective for applications reviewed by Advisory Councils starting January 2027. The change ends a policy dating to 1988, citing rising administrative burden and limited benefit. HIV/AIDS applications will shift to standard receipt dates, improving efficiency and peer review integrity.
