Biography:

Christy Olezeski earned her PhD in clinical psychology with an emphasis on child and adolescent development from the University at Albany in 2010. She then completed postdoctoral training with the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School Children and the Law Program. Following her postdoctoral experience, Dr. Olezeski worked in private practice in the greater New York City area, providing individual and group clinical services to adults who had a history of sexual crimes. She also provided pre- and post-sentencing risk evaluations to both defense and prosecuting counsel while in this position. In addition to this work, Dr. Olezeski worked part-time at Westchester Jewish Community Services, a not-for-profit community clinic, where she served children and adolescents at the Treatment Center for Trauma and Abuse. Her most recent position involved overseeing the psychosexual risk evaluations for youth in Westchester County who had engaged in sexually problematic behavior.

Dr. Olezeski joined the faculty at the Yale Department of Psychiatry in the fall of 2013. She currently is a member of the child, adolescent and young adult teams at the West Haven Mental Health Clinic, where she provides clinical services with an emphasis on work with survivors of trauma and family-based treatment. The emphasis on trauma and family work is done with the intention to address intergenerational mental health issues within the West Haven community. Dr. Olezeski is also the Director of the Yale Pediatric Gender Center, where she coordinates care and conducts readiness evaluations with trans* and gender variant youth. Dr. Olezeski's clinical and academic interests include the study of complex trauma, gender-variance and sexuality issues.
