The Yale SASH Lab's six-week Summer Youth Research Program at Essex County College engaged 23 New Jersey teens in public health, data science, and substance use. Funded by a NIDA grant, the program, led by Dr. Ijeoma Opara, aimed to inspire future leaders through hands-on research and advocacy training. Students learned from experts and created a prevention coalition called HEY. The program culminated in a graduation dinner, highlighting the teens' growth and enthusiasm.
