CIRA Implementation Science Network Featured at Global Health Conference

CIRA Director, Paul Cleary, presented on CIRA's HIV Implementation Science Network at the 13th annual Global Health and Innovation Conference held in New Haven on Sunday, April 17. The Network is a unique and ambitious initiative that was created in partnership with the Lifespan/Tufts/Brown Center for AIDS Research. The goal is to improve HIV prevention and treatment in small urban areas with a high prevalence of HIV by stimulating and supporting research collaborations across New England with a focus on implementation science. Dr. Cleary's talk highlighted some of the challenges with HIV treatment and prevention of particular relevance to smaller cities in New England and related research questions that are being investigated in studies developed by Network members including how program implementation may be impacted by smaller population size, social network characteristics in small cities, and the arrangement of social and health care services in these cities.
