Dr. Amy Smoyer to be the 2014 recipient of the SSWR's "Outstanding Social Work Doctoral Dissertation Award"

Congratulations to Dr. Amy Smoyer, current CIRA Postdoctoral Fellow (and former Assistant Director to the Center's Law, Policy and Ethics Core), who is the 2014 recipient of the Society for Social Work and Research "Outstanding Social Work Doctoral Dissertation Award" for her dissertation "Cafeteria, Commissary and Cooking: Foodways and Negotiations of Power and Identity in a Women’s Prison". This prestigious award, which recognizes the significance, rigor and contribution of this research to knowledge in social work and social welfare, will be presented at the 2014 SSWR Annual Conference in January.
