CIRA hosted the first two virtual events focused on HIV/AIDS in humanitarian crises: a symposium on HIV/AIDS, mental health, and substance use on April 4, 2022 and a panel on ethical considerations in research and practice on April 18, 2022. These successful events were attended by over 100 participants from 16 countries including academic researchers, clinical and social service providers, NGO staff, students, and many more. Recordings and resources from the events can be accessed at the HIV/AIDS in Humanitarian Crises program page. The third event scheduled for May 19, 2022 is an interactive research workshop intended for individuals with interest in conducting HIV/AIDS-related research involving vulnerable populations impacted by humanitarian crises. Application due date has been extended to Friday, May 6, 2022.
