Institute for Community Research Announces New Program

The ICR Community Research Alliance announces the start of a new 18 month to 2-year program to support community based organizations confronting social and health justice challenges called BUILDING CBO POWER through Assessment, Analysis and Advocacy. This program will be conducted in collaboration with the Health Disparities Institute, UCONN. It will involve up to eight community-based organizations that want to increase their capacity to form alliances, collect information from their constituencies and the communities they serve, and use the information to improve programs and outcomes, and promote policy and practice changes with funders, legislators and other policy makers. It will also involve many others in our greater Hartford community that want to join forces with the CBOs to tackle social justice issues together. Together we hope to be able to confront long standing inequities in the distribution of power and resources in racially, culturally, historically and economically marginalized Hartford area communities the CBOs that serve them.

If you want more information about this program or want to join a network of supporters. Please contact Candida Flores at Candidaflores2251@gmail.com; Jean Schensul at Jean.schensul@icrweb.org or Linda Sprague-Martinez, Spraguemartinez@uchc.edu.
