AbstractPsychiatric comorbidities among opioid-dependent patients are common. Many medications used to treat both conditions are metabolized through complimentary cytochrome P450 isoenzymes. When medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependence is concurrently used with psychotropic medications, problematic pharmacokinetic drug interactions may occur.
